We are passionate about windsurfing and watersports, we love being in the water and anything to do with the sea. Our goal is to spread the infectious love for surfing, it doesn't matter if it is your first time uphauling a sail, or if you plan to learn a forward loop, we aim to make your surfing dreams materialize.
There is a sacred relationship between the people of east Crete and the gorges since antiquity, when nature was worshiped and ancient Cretan deities were closely connected with its reproductive abilities.
Kouremenos is located 1,5km east of Palekastro and 21km east of Sitia and just 300m norh from Chiona beach. Around the Palekastro area, the “Meltemi” wind increases its strength through the local thermal and funneling effect that gives the surface wind an additional 2 Beaufort. This makes Kouremenos bay one of the most wind-certain spots in Europe with wind statistics of 20-28 wind days per month from April to October.
If you are a mountain bike lover or healthy living is part of your life, then here’s your place to be. Explore the beautiful prefecture of Palekastro - Kato Zakros, Crete on our fascinating mountain bike tours in order to learn more about the landscape, culture and the people who inhabit this fantastic Island.
It is also called "tis sukias o Spilios" (meaning, the cave of the fig tree), as there is a fig tree in the entrance. Its official name, however, is connected to the wider region, where there were stone mines.
The mountainous areas of Sitia, in comparison with other mountainous areas of Crete, do not have intense formations. However, due to the limestone composition of its rocks, the rain and river water has created an extended surface carst. In some places, the carst is quite impressive and has formed hundreds of limestone tips that look like a meteorite rain with uneven shapes.
The surf centre in Kouremenos - Palekastro has a unique cosy atmosphere and is run efficiently, with the best JP and NP equipment from 2012. Along with the outstanding wind statistics, it is one of the best centre’s in southern Europe. It lies in the middle of a beautiful sandy bay, lined with trees.
